The CEREC device is mobile and houses both a medical-grade computer and a camera. When you come into our office to receive a dental crown, our dentist will use the camera to capture an image of the prepared tooth. The computer and 3D software then convert the picture to a virtual model of the tooth, and our dentist designs your crown on the screen while you wait. The crown is then sent via a wireless radio signal to the CEREC milling unit, where it is created from a block of tooth-colored material that matches the color of your natural teeth.
